About

Dhamma first.
Not a personality.

ABHĀṢITHA exists for the teaching. The site is here so that the work can outlast any single platform — and so that a listener can find the Dhamma, not a figure.

Mission

Awaken the Teacher Within.

The motto points away from the speaker. The aim of the ABHĀṢITHA Buddhist Teaching Network is that a listener learns to see for themselves — ehi passiko, come and see — rather than to depend on a teacher.

The network gathers what has already been given — deshanā in Sinhala, published books, and written investigations into citta, viññāṇa and the path — and points toward a place where that work can be lived in silence.

Teaching, writing, service and broadcasting — one practice, many doors.

The method

Dhamma first. Science only as a lamp.

The teachings do not replace the Tipiṭaka with neuroscience. They use contemporary language — the predictive mind, the time-lag of perception, questions of AI — so that a modern listener can see what the Buddha already pointed to: the constructed nature of experience, and the possibility of its cessation.

Sutta

The discourses remain the root. Terms are kept exact. Metaphors are used only when they serve seeing.

Abhidhamma

Citta-vīthi, phassa, saññā, papañca — analysis as a tool for practice, not as a scholastic sport.

Practice

Bhāvanā aimed at Nibbāna. The future land exists so that listening can become sitting.

How this site distinguishes sources

Canonical teaching
Discourses of the Pāli Canon, cited by collection and number (for example MN 18) with a link to the text.
Historical context
How the teaching and its schools developed over time.
Modern science
Findings from contemporary science, presented as science — never as words of the Buddha.
Commentary
The teacher’s interpretation and explanation. The talks are commentary on the Dhamma, not additions to the Canon.

පූජ්‍ය ඉමදූවේ නන්දරතන ස්වාමීන්වහන්සේ

A Sri Lankan monk and the founder of ABHĀṢITHA. This page records the public vocation: Dhamma teaching, writing, and the founding of a place of practice. It does not advertise a biography for curiosity. Dates of birth, family stories, and private monastic details are omitted unless the Venerable asks them to be added.

  • Teacher of the early Dhamma

Suttas are read closely — Bāhiya, Madhupiṇḍika, Āṇi, and the vocabulary of knowing — and then related to how a mind actually constructs a world.

  • Writer

Books and long essays. The blog at abhashitha.blogspot.com has carried investigations since 2020, including rebirth, meditation and Nibbāna, and the boat-parable of the path.

  • Broadcaster

A radio channel of conversations was begun in 2018. The YouTube archive now holds the principal public sermons of ABHĀṢITHA.

  • Founder of a land

A ten-acre project is being prepared for meditators only — a forest setting for those who come to practise, not to tour.

The teaching image

One figure, many doors.

The public image of the work holds birth, sense, body, memory, and a village under one sky. The teaching itself stays simpler: come and see.
